DETECTION SKILLS AND LEPROSY PATIENTS MANAGEMENT TRANING
PROGRAMME FOR 11 PROVINCES OF CENTRAL-HIGHLANDS
Under the National Leprosy Control Programme in Vietnam which focuses on reaching the target for leprosy elimination in accordance with the country’s standards, a detection skills and leprosy patients management traning programme for health workers from Central-Highlands is held yearly by Quyhoa Natinal Leprosy Dermatology Hospital (QuyhoaNDH).
Implemeting the plan 425/CĐT, from August 25th to 30th, 02 classes have opened for 77 health workers from 11 provinces in QuyhoaNDH.
It is not simple to know clearly a complicated disease like leprosy. Therefore, lectures give high priority to specific knowledge and study targets. Besides, half of study time is spened for health workers to pratice with patients.
It is hoped that the gained knowledge from the training programme would provide health workers a basic foundation for leprosy - affected patients detection and management in their localities. Time by time, the cause of transmission will be eliminated, aiming to be recognised as having eliminated the disease at district and provincial level in 2011.
