VIETCOT students to do internship of making orthopaedic footwears
at QuyhoaNDH in 2018
In December 2018, one group of foreign students of the Cooperation Project “These shoes are made for walking” between Netherlands Leprosy Relief (NLR) and Vietnamese Training Centre for Orthopaedic Technologists (VIETCOT) have done their internship of making orthopaedic footwears for persons affected by leprosy (PALs) at Quyhoa National Leprosy – Dermatology Hospital (QuyhoaNDH). This is the fourth time the Project sends their students to the QuyhoaNDH for an internship.
During 2 weeks of the internship, under guidance of the technicians of Quyhoa workshop, these students have made a lot of types of sandals like protective sandals, molding sandals, orthopaedic sandals…which fit each of PAL’s feet. These sandals play a very important role in protecting the feet and preventing further disabilities.
At the end of the internship, the students have been offered a certificate of successful completion of the internship by Dr. Tuan Anh Vu - the Director of QuyhoaNDH. It is expected that QuyhoaNDH and VIETCOT will continue training cooperation for foreign students in the field of orthopedic footwears.
